I am a certified (DVIDA) Jr. Associate ballroom dance instructor in Salisbury, Maryland. I teach adult beginner Level I & Beyond the Basics group classes, plus private and wedding dance lessons.
My specialty is teaching you the art of social/partner dancing using ballroom steps.
I would love the opportunity to share my dance experience and training with you!
Let Ballroom Made Simple help you reach your social ballroom dancing goals.
I am a charter member and past president of USA Dance Ballroom Dance Chapter 6098, Eastern Shore of Maryland. I was introduced to ballroom dancing in 2005 and fell in love with it! In 2007, I began training to teach beginner ballroom dance lessons. In April 2008 I opened the doors of Ballroom Made Simple and have been teaching group and private ballroom dance lessons ever since! I specialize in teaching beginners the 6 core dances in American Smooth & Rhythm dance styles including: Foxtrot, Slow Waltz, American Tango, East Coast Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha. I also teach the fun club dances such as 4-Count Hustle, Merengue, Bachata, Salsa and Samba.
In 2009 I met and danced with Champion Latin/Ballroom Dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy! Need I say more 🙂
In 2009, 2010, and 2011, I performed in the local fundraiser, Dancing With Delmarva Stars.
In the summer of 2010 I opened my Ballroom Made Simple Dance Studio. I loved having a space to call “home” for my classes. But now, due to growth, I teach at Olympia Fitness Club in Salisbury where I host group classes, private lessons, and wedding dance workshops.
Through private training, I’ve had the opportunity to take lessons with a variety of professional level dancers. I strive to help new dancers acquire a polished look on the dance floor and help them avoid developing bad dance habits. Helping students become good dance leaders and followers is always a goal.
My weekly beginner group class (Level I) is held on Thursday nights, year-round. These are typically 4-week sessions and help new dancers build a foundation of dance steps, styling and technique so that they will be comfortable attending local social ballroom dances. Beginner Level 2/intermediate classes are an extension of the beginner series and are offered for those who want to continue their learning experience.
