Basic/Beginner Classes (Level I): The Thursday Night Beginner Group Class is designed for any individual new to ballroom social dancing. No previous dance experience required. The most basic steps will be introduced and a pattern will build over the course of the series. Students should plan to attend ALL sessions. If you have to miss a class please let the instructor know. Some lesson plans are based on a full class.
Level II Classes: are a continuation of the beginner group class and designed for those dancers who have completed a basic series of any given dance. We will review the basics and then build on the basic steps and patterns by incorporating new figures in to your dance repertoire. Participants should be familiar with and know the timing of beginner patterns of the featured workshop. Look for these classes on our schedule.
Private Lessons: private lessons are an opportunity to work one on one with your instructor, at your own pace. Extra time can be devoted to learning a new step, or focus on a particular issue such as leading figures, improving posture, and more.
Suggested Lesson Attire: cool, comfortable clothing; Ballroom dance or practice shoes are recommended. Ladies closed toe, closed heel shoes are required for group lessons (no tennis shoes, flip flops, slip-on shoes or spiky heels or powder on your shoes. Shoes should be secure on the foot). BYOBW (bring your own bottled water – keep hydrated).
Private lesson cancellation policy: A 8-hour advance lesson cancellation is required and appreciated for private lessons as the instructor’s time is structured around your appointment. Otherwise the lesson is considered forfeited and full private lesson rates will apply. Instructors are taking their time to plan music and your choreography behind the scenes for a successful lesson so if a scheduled private/bridal lesson is a no call, no show, or if the session is canceled at the last minute, the client will be billed for a full private lesson.
