About Ballroom Made Simple
Instructor Pam Wood
Greetings! I am a Ballroom Dance Instructor in Salisbury, Maryland. I teach beginner level I & II ballroom group & private dance lessons for ages 16 + including empty-nesters, bridal couples, college students, and those who just want to learn how to social dance!
I would love the opportunity to share my dance experience and training with you! Let Ballroom Made Simple help you reach your dance goals.
I am a charter member and past president of USA Dance Chapter 6098, Eastern Shore of Maryland. I was introduced to ballroom dancing in 2005 and fell in love with it! In 2007, I began training to teach beginner ballroom dance lessons with local pro instructor Amanda Showell. In April 2008 I opened the doors of Ballroom Made Simple and have been teaching group and private lessons ever since! I specialize in teaching beginners the 6 core dances in American Smooth & Rhythm dance styles including: Foxtrot, Slow Waltz, American Tango, East Coast Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha. I also teach the fun club dances such as Merengue, Bachata, Salsa and Samba. I am currently working toward my DVIDA Junior Associate Instructor training. I have completed Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, and East Coast Swing.
In 2009 I met and danced with Champion Latin/Ballroom Dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy!
Need I say more 🙂
In 2009, 2010 and 2011 I performed in the local fundraiser, Dancing With Delmarva Stars.
In the summer of 2010 I opened my Ballroom Made Simple Dance Studio. I loved having a space to call “home” for my classes. After 3 years I outgrew that space and moved my classes to the Salisbury Wicomico Senior Services Center. Students have plenty of room to move and groove! It’s located at 909 Progress Circle, Salisbury, MD (behind the Holly Center on Snow Hill Road).
Through private training and group lessons, I’ve had the opportunity to take lessons with a variety of professional level dancers. I strive to help new dancers acquire a polished look on the dance floor and help them avoid developing bad dance habits. Helping students become good dance leaders and followers is always a goal.
My weekly group class (Level I) is held on Thursday nights. These 6-week sessions help new dancers build a foundation of dance steps, styling and technique so that they will be comfortable attending local social ballroom dances. Beginner Level 2 classes are offered for those who want to continue learning new figures. Private lessons are scheduled on Saturdays at Olympia Fitness Club in Salisbury.
