About Ballroom Made Simple

Local instructor and social dancer, Pam Wood, is a charter member and past president of the local USA Dance Chapter of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She has been ballroom dancing since 2005. 2009 proved to be a particularly memorable year – meeting and dancing with Champion Dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy and performing in the local Dancing With Delmarva Stars!

Through private training and group lessons, and having the opportunity to dance with professional level partners, she has developed dance skills that will help new dancers acquire a more polished look on the dance floor. She will help new dancers avoid developing bad habits before they are learned. To help accomplish this, Pam is offering private and group dance lessons to meet the needs of beginner dancers. Community group lessons are generally kept small so students receive more personalized attention. Because she has been trained to teach both the lead and follow roles she works equally well with male and female clients.

Pam is eager to share her love of ballroom dancing – particularly with those who say they are dancing impaired or rhythmically challenged. She offers patience and repetition to help new dancers learn beginner ballroom dance patterns.

Ballroom Made Simple offers a variety of beginner group classes, perfect for the new dancer, in Foxtrot, East Coast Swing, Waltz, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, Samba, &  Tango. Some classes are a “one time only” class designed to introduce a particular rhythm to new dancers. Other workshops extend over a period of several weeks to help the new dancer build a foundation of dance steps, styling and technique.

Wedding Lessons for “First Dance” pay as you go based on what you need at $45/hour.

Private Lessons:  Available upon request wth advanced scheduling. Private lessons are great for working on a particular style of dance or for those who may be a little too shy to attend group lessons. Rates begins at $45/hour for 1-2 people and are pro-rated for larger private groups.

Private Parties or Corporate Special Events:  contact Ballroom Made Simple for pricing. Group dance lessons are ideal for:

  • Bridal parties who want (or need to) de-stress before the big day
  • A company “employee activity” (i.e. a fun way to prepare for upcoming holiday dances!)
  • Family reunions or special get togethers

SINGLES Workshops: Ballroom Made Simple is dedicated to offering workshops for singles who want to learn to dance but who don’t have a partner. No longer does not having a partner have to hinder your ability to learn to dance. Pam has outlined beginner workshops ideal for Singles. Both males and females are welcome! No partner or previous dance experience is required. Contact Pam for upcoming Singles workshops.

Dance Venues: One of the first questions new dancers ask is “where do you dance”? Locally there are three chapters of USA Dance. These are “beginner and single friendly” places to dance in a “no smoking/no alcohol” environment. Visit their website for dance schedules:

TESTIMONIAL:  “Your easy and gracious teaching style is refreshing and fun.  It affords all those with two left feet an opportunity to grace the dance floor with confidence.   We love that you not only teach the dance steps, but also ballroom etiquette. Your passion for dance is contagious!  We’ve caught the ballroom dancing bug and hope there’s no cure!!! Thank you for being so encouraging; you are an exceptional instructor.  We look forward to more classes this summer…we have recruits!!!!” – Tracey and Tony S.
